The ELI offers a variety of high-quality intensive English programs for degree-seeking students, business and legal professionals, English language teachers, and general English language learners. Many of our programs can be pursued online.
Intensive English Program
The Intensive English Program (IEP) is our core program. Through its various tracks of study, IEP helps students to improve their English for general and professional purposes.

The ELI offers a variety of programs to help students to prepare for undergraduate or graduate programs at a top American university.
UNDERGRADUATE
Description | A pathway program for students who have been conditionally-admitted to a bachelor’s degree program at the University of Delaware. Students can earn up to 28 university credits while improving their Academic English skills! Academic Transitions courses can also be taken online. |

GRADUATE
Description | The Grad CAP program helps students to be accepted to a Master’s or PhD program at the University of Delaware (or one of our partner universities). Graduate CAP students are never required to take a TOEFL or IELTS exam! Grad CAP courses can also be taken online. |

Description | Graduate Pathways is an intensive one-semester (4-month) program for international students who are conditionally admitted to a participating UD graduate program and who are approaching the required language proficiency. |
Who is this program for? | International students who have scored within 15 points (iBT) or 0.5 bands (IELTS) of their program’s language proficiency requirement for direct admission or have passed ELI Level 5 in a summer session. |

ANY LEVEL (UNDERGRADUATE OR GRADUATE)
Description | Super-intensive Academic English preparation for students who wish to attend an American university program. AUEP courses can also be taken online. |
Who is this program for? | International students who want to pursue either an undergraduate or a graduate degree in the USA and who do not have a conditional admissions offer. Note: AUEP is also available to lower-level students who are on track for Academic Transitions or the Graduate Conditional Admissions Program. |

TEST PREPARATION
Description | This part-time course teaches students strategies for taking the IELTS exam. IELTS Test Preparation can also be taken online. |
Who is this program for? | Students who are already studying at the ELI or individuals who are already in the USA and who do not need the ELI to support them to obtain a student visa. |

Description | Practice English for networking, negotiating, running meetings. Analyze real business scenarios, build your language skills, and engage in authentic communicative activities. |

Description | Our GRE/GMAT Prep course provides strategies for tackling the verbal and essay sections of the tests, with special emphasis on the challenges that international students face. |
