If You’ve Got It, Haunt It: Halloween party

Thursday, October 29 | 8 p.m. (EDT)

Halloween is a holiday celebrated every year on October 31. The holiday originally began as a tradition where people would start bonfires and wear costumes in order to scare off spirits. Over time, the holiday transformed into a night where people, mostly children, put on costumes and go house to house asking for candy and other treats. This is usually called “trick-or-treating”. Many people also carve pumpkins and decorate their homes. It is also custom for people to wear costumes. These costumes can be cute, scary, or funny.

The UD World Scholars Program welcomes you to join us in celebrating Halloween. Our celebration will take place on October 29 at 8 p.m. We would love for you to wear a costume of your choice. Popular ones include characters from movies and television shows or mythical creatures including vampires, werewolves, fairies, and many others. We plan to have a pumpkin decorating contest where you could carve your own pumpkin or color the image of a pumpkin that we will provide. We also plan to eat candy and listen to traditional Halloween themed music. There will also be the option to watch a Halloween movie.
