Conditional Admissions

Do not let your low TOEFL or IELTS score stop you from applying to a university in the USA!

If you are an excellent student, but you do not have a TOEFL or IELTS score (or if your score is low), you can still be conditionally accepted to the University of Delaware or to several partner universities!

Conditional admission and university preparation

Conditionally-admitted students participate in university preparation programs to improve their Academic English skills and to develop the academic skills that are necessary for success at an American university. After they meet the requirements of their conditional admission at the ELI, these students can begin full-time university study. Best of all, no TOEFL or IELTS is ever required for conditional admission or for completion of the ELI program!

There are two programs for conditionally-admitted students at the University of Delaware ELI (see below).

Academic Transitions (AT)

The pathway program for undergraduate students.
Earn up to 27 university credits while improving your Academic English skills!

Conditional Admissions Program (CAP)

The university preparation program for graduate students. Improve your advanced research and communication skills to help you succeed at the graduate level!
