The painting is made with acrylic paint on a 9” by 11” canvas. It depicts a tortie-calico cat pondering something unknown as she surveys her surroundings. Her ears are perked up as she stays alert to her environment. The shadowing on the cat’s chest shows the layers of her soft fur. Her coat is split into patches of orange, black, and white. The green background provides contrast to her body while simultaneously complementing her eyes. As humans, we can only guess what is going on in her mind as the complexities of a cat’s life are very different from that of our own.
