Why Advertise with the Student Centers?

The University Student Centers (USC) are an excellent place to advertise with daily foot traffic of 5000+ between our two centers Perkins and Trabant. We reach an impressive range of audiences on campus every day and can help you promote your message or event within our spaces through our digital signs. 

There are four digital screens in the Trabant University Center, eight in the Perkins Student Center, and an LED sign located on the exterior patio of both Trabant and Perkins. All screens run on a continuous loop. Space is limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Current Max Ads: 30 per week on indoor displays, 10 per week on exterior LEDs.
  • Ad Duration: 8 seconds on indoor displays, 20 seconds on exterior LEDs. On average, your ad will display once every 2–3 minutes (20 times per hour).

Policies and Design Requirements

PLEASE NOTE: Reservations for digital ad space must be made at least four business days in advance of the requested post date. Ad requests will not be accepted if they are requested with fewer than four business days (Monday through Friday) notice.

Ad Reservation Policies

To allow all UD groups opportunities for access and to prevent a monopoly on digital signs, the following limits are placed on reservations:

  • Reservations for digital ad space must be made at least four business days in advance of the requested post date. Ad requests will not be accepted if they are requested with fewer than four business days notice (i.e. Monday through Friday).
  • Postings will be displayed no earlier than one week prior to the date of the event.
  • Only one graphic will be accepted with each ad request; not including variations of the same graphic for our different display sizes (1920×1080, 1080×1920, 150×60).
  • No more than two postings per department or RSO are allowed during a one-week period.
  • Advertisements are limited to event promotions only. Approval will not be given for postings advertising personal sales of items (i.e. cars, furniture, etc.) or for individuals seeking roommates
  • The UD department or RSO requesting the posting must be primarily responsible for planning, implementing and financing the event. The requestor may not reserve ad space on behalf of other organizations or University departments.
  • Postings should prominently display the name of the group planning the event, as well as provide the date, time, location and the link to your event page.

University Student Centers and the Student Life Communication and Marketing team reserve the right to evaluate and make the final determination of the posting. If intentional misrepresentation has occurred, this may result in the suspension of posting privileges in all USC facilities. One round of redesigns may be requested if needed for branding or legibility purposes. If the redesigned graphic still does not meet the requirements, the ad will not be approved.

Additional Policies for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)

  • Student groups must be registered and in good standing with the University Student Centers. An officer must be listed on Student Central to be eligible to submit your group’s request to post on a digital sign.
  • Student groups classified as RSOs must follow the use of the University of Delaware trademark and logos policies.

Design Requirements

  • Images must be submitted as jpg, jpeg, png or gif files.
  • File dimensions are as follows. Those not appearing in this format will be modified and may appear to be stretched or disproportional.
    • 1920×1080 for interior landscape displays
    • 1080×1920 for interior portrait displays
    • 150×60 for exterior LED signs.
  • Videos and animations are permitted on interior displays only, but cannot include sound. Captions should be added as necessary. Videos are limited to 10 seconds.

Additional LED Design Limitations

  • Due to their low resolution, the LED signs require simple, bold text or type. Please avoid light, ornate fonts and serif fonts with fine, thin lines because they will be illegible.
  • Graphics should be limited to at most three lines of text in order to ensure readability, with no more than 15–20 characters per line.
  • Detailed logos, imagery and photos may not display properly. QR codes will not work on these displays.
  • Avoid white backgrounds, as these can be overly bright.
  • As a general rule, if you are unable to read the text in the thumbnail preview, it will be illegible on the LED displays.
