Building Managers
Building Managers are responsible for providing superior customer service to University students, staff, guests and visitors within the University Student Centers. Responsibilities include oversight and management of all night/weekend programs and events taking place within the Centers as well as safety, security and facility maintenance concerns.
Building Managers will communicate with custodial staff regarding setup and other custodial needs, evacuate the Centers during emergencies according to written policies and procedures, conduct security checks of the Centers routinely during shifts, and make decisions regarding proper use of the facility including, but not limited to, group meetings, lounge areas and recreation areas.
Duties also include oversight of the Information Desk, Hen Zone and Esports Arena operations, processing the nightly Flex/credit sales, recording all revenue through the reconciliation of cash reports, as well as other duties as assigned.

- Students hired as building managers will be trained to work at both Trabant and Perkins, and will be scheduled in both areas as needed.
Information Desk and Hen Zone Associates
Information Desk Associates are responsible for providing superior customer service to University students, staff, guests and visitors within the University Student Centers. Associates are also responsible for accuracy in Flex/credit sales of merchandise, maintaining and stocking merchandise inventory, providing directions and answering general questions in person and over the phone, properly signing out RSO office keys, maintaining a neat and visually attractive workspace, and other duties as assigned.
Hen Zone Associates are responsible for providing superior customer service to the guests and patrons of the Hen Zone and Esports Arena while maintaining an inventory of all gaming equipment. Associates are also responsible for keeping track of guest playing times, proper equipment sign out and basic equipment maintenance, accurate key sign out for RSO offices, and assisting with the opening and closing procedures of the Hen Zone and Esports Arena. Responsibilities also include monitoring the activities within the Hen Zone and Esports Arena to ensure a safe comfortable environment, proper handling and usage of equipment, and addressing disruptive or inappropriate behavior as well as maintaining a neat and visually attractive workspace, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Superior customer service skills and willingness to learn.
- Cash register sales experience or willingness to learn.
- Accurate cash counting and reconciliation skills.
- General knowledge of campus community and ability to answer questions/provide directions, look-up information.
- Punctuality, reliability, and dependability.

- Basic knowledge of recreational gaming equipment or willingness to learn.

Audio Visual Technicians
Audio Visual Technicians are responsible for providing superior customer service to the patrons, guests and visitors to the University Student Centers while setting-up and operating sound, lighting, projection and multimedia equipment.
AV Technicians are also responsible for providing technical support and assistance to event sponsors before and during programs, performances, lectures and screenings. AV Technicians must be able to adapt to rapidly changing environments in order to fit the needs of guests.
Responsibilities also include troubleshooting, maintaining, cleaning, transporting of equipment and maintaining a neat and visually attractive workspace, as well as other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic skills operating sound, lighting, projection, and multimedia equipment and willingness to learn.
- Superior customer service skills. Punctuality, reliability, and dependability.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work with ladders and scaffolding on a semi-regular basis.
- Interest in working in a fun, exciting and rewarding environment.

Student Media Office Assistants
Student Media Office Assistants provide superior customer service to students, staff, guests and visitors to the Student Media Office. Responsibilities also include answering and screening telephone calls, typing letters, memorandums, tabulations and public service announcements.
The position assists with scheduling and maintaining on-air music and transmitter logs, updating a database of WVUD contributors, mailing premiums and invoices following the annual Radiothon fundraiser, sorting mail, assisting with giveaways and maintaining accurate records.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring that credit card pledges are properly entered while maintaining confidential information or records, as well as other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Superior customer service skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment including, phone; fax, copier, PC, adding machine.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel highly recommended.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with a diverse population.
- Punctuality, reliability, and dependability.
