Madeline Davidson

Honors Degree, Pre-Veterinary Medicine

Points of Pride: I was one of the first two students at the University of Delaware to graduate with the Community Engagement Scholars designation, a program that started the year I entered UD. Through it, I have found ways to tie service into my academic field. I worked in two undergraduate research laboratories (Dr. Kung’s Animal Science Lab and the Dr. Martens’s Neurovascular Aging Lab) which both contributed to my learning experiences. I also participated in a One Health internship in Wilmington that offered free veterinary care to residents of low-income neighborhoods. Some people there never had the opportunity to take their pet to a veterinarian due to financial reasons, which was eye-opening. I hope to use what I have learned at UD to reverse this trend.

What’s Next? I’ll be attending Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Marissa DelVecchio

Honors Degree, International Business

Points of Pride: I am most proud of my involvement in service through UDaB and buildOn during my time at UD. I have served as the Awareness Chair and Secretary for buildOn, a non-profit organization in the realm of education accessibility. I had the privilege to travel to Mobile, Alabama and Detroit, Michigan during my time with UDaB.
