Point of Pride: I think I am most proud of being nominated for and receiving the Woody Sprague Memorial Award for Outstanding Munson Fellow. I was honored to know that I had exemplified similar characteristics in the Munson Fellow position that Woody Sprague had, and that others had recognized that!
What’s Next? This summer I have a virtual internship with the Center for Economic Competitiveness, and then will be back at UD to finish my 4+1 in Public Policy.
Alyssa Schiff

Point of Pride: My research project with Dr. Victor Perez, where we explored environmental justice in Delaware through narratives in local news media. I am also proud of my involvement in volunteer organizations such as Alpha Phi Omega and Strong #LikeaGirl. Volunteering in and around Delaware has really changed and added to my UD experience, as I got to feel like a real community member at UD, in Newark, and in Delaware.
What’s Next? I’ll be attending The New School in Manhattan for my MS in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management.

Point of Pride: During my time at UD, I have cherished the opportunity to advise younger pre-med students as a Pre-Health LLC Peer Mentor through assistance in course scheduling, personal statements, resume building, and applying to the Medical Scholars Program. I have also thoroughly enjoyed tutoring several classes in the Medical Diagnostics Department, such as Clinical Physiological Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology, and Medical Microbiology.
What’s Next? I will be attending Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.

Point of Pride: All the times I pushed myself to be involved in multiple organizations and take on leadership roles. As an executive officer in Alpha Delta Pi I was able to challenge myself and grow as a leader, friend, and UD student.
What’s Next? I’m going to Salus University to get my Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Point of Pride: I am proudest of my leadership within Engineers Without Borders. I served as a project manager for the Malawi Potable Water Project, and during my time, I worked with 4 communities in rural Malawi to build deep-well, potable water systems capable of supplying water to 1000 people.
What’s Next? I will be a graduate student at Johns Hopkins Center of Biomedical Innovation and Design, where I will be designing solutions to major challenges global human health.

Point of Pride: As a sophomore at UD, I joined a biomedical engineering research lab under the mentorship of Dr. Megan Killian. This experience became fundamental to my time at UD, as I spent the next years working on research that ultimately culminated in writing my thesis to pursue an Honors Degree with Distinction! I am proud of everything that I have learned and have been able to complete in the lab, especially being able to present my research at the Orthopaedic Research Society conference this year. I am so grateful for Dr. Killian and my other mentors, both faculty and students, that have guided me through this experience!
What’s Next? I will be attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where I am pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Point of Pride: I really enjoyed being the first-ever Band Manager for the University of Delaware Marching Band. It was such a wonderful opportunity to take on administrative responsibility and enact meaningful change in an organization that means so much to me.
What’s Next? I will be working as an Assistant Buyer for Burlington.

Point of Pride: The leadership roles I have held during my time at UD, including being President of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and serving as a Blue Hen Leadership Service Leader for this past winter’s trip focusing on disaster relief in Puerto Rico. I am also proud that I was able to hold these leadership positions and fully immerse myself in UD campus life while remaining in the Honors Program all four years.
What’s Next? I will be attending Boston University this fall to get my Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Points of Pride: I am a member of the UD Swim Club and Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed community service fraternity. I joined them both during the fall of freshman year and been involved in them throughout my four years at UD. I studied abroad in Winter of 2018 to Italy on a business and English trip. I learned a lot about the Italian culture, made new friends, and caught the travel bug! I made great relationships with my accounting professors, especially Jeff Gillespie. He was always encouraging and helpful with anything from classes, advisement, internships, or just life advice.
What’s Next? I will be working at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Philadelphia.

Point of Pride: I had the best time studying abroad for a whole semester in Granada, Spain being immersed in the culture and language. My Spanish Studies advisor Dr. McKenna was so helpful and supportive throughout my entire undergraduate career.
What’s Next? Attending CUNY Hunter College to get my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology.

Point of Pride: My involvement with the Arabic department at UD. I started learning Arabic in my sophomore year and throughout the next three years I went from knowing nothing about the language to being the president of Arabic Language Club and the Teaching Assistant for the lower levels of Arabic! I have fallen in love with the language thanks to the amazing faculty here at UD.
What’s Next? I’m actually staying at UD to get a Masters Degree in French Language and Pedagogy.
