Spotlight on…. Center for Health Profession Studies

According to their website, “The Center for Premedical and Health Profession Studies is focused on helping students across the colleges who are pursuing careers in the health professions.” The center is happy to meet with students while they are in the University Studies Program and exploring their options for majors and careers in healthcare. The center supports students who are interested in a variety of medical fields including (but not limited to) medicine, dentistry, optometry, podiatry, physician assistant, advanced practice registered nurse, pharmacy, and physical/occupational therapy.

Directed by Dr. David Barlow and Dr. Jennifer Nauren, and supported by a staff of advisors, graduate students, and peer mentors, the Center for Health Profession Studies is available to meet with students through an appointment or drop-in basis for advisement. They help to prepare students in both academics and extracurriculars for their next steps in the healthcare field, whether that be to pursue further schooling or to enter the world of work after graduation.
