Academic Advisement Information

UST Academic Advisors are here to help! You will be assigned to a specific UST Advisor until you declare a major and there are many ways to connect with an advisor:

• Schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor through Stellic 
• UST advisors offer drop-in hours throughout the year. Visit the UST website for the most up-to-date drop-in hours
• Email your advisor with any questions. To find your advisor’s contact information go to UDSIS
• You can also email our office at ust-advise@udel.edu with any questions

Important Dates and Deadlines

June 23rd- Mid July: NSO Academic Advising happens. Check your UD email for the link to schedule a one on one advising appointment. Be sure to attend a Meet Your College session prior to your advising appointment.

August 1st: First year student’s fall schedules are finalized and the add/drop period starts. If you would like to make changes to your fall schedule, you can do so, starting August 1st. Please be sure to consult your Academic Advisor prior to making any changes.

August 23rd-25th: UD Welcome Days

August 25th: Academic Orientation

August 26th: First day of classes

September 9th: Last day of the free add/drop period.

October 20th: Registration for Winter 2026 begins

November 3rd: Registration for Spring 2026 begins

November 10th: Grade Change Deadline. Last day to withdraw from a class or change the grading to Audit or Pass/Fail

December 9th: Last day of Fall 2025 classes

December 11th-15th: Final exams

Exploring Majors

UD Internal Transfer Policy

To see the specific requirements for the restricted majors, meaning you need to complete certain requirements before going into that major, please visit the 2025-2026 Undergraduate Catalog, then go to the Programs page and select Restricted Majors. Any major not listed on that page is unrestricted, meaning you do not need to complete any requirements prior to declaring that as your major.

Interest Areas

Complete the Finding What Fits activity to see which Interest Area(s) you score highest in. Then review the majors that fall within these areas to start your exploration.  The UST Interest Areas are also listed on the UST website.

Academic Resources

The University of Delaware has many academic resources available to help you succeed. The Advising Central website has many of these resources listed for students. Resources include tutoring, academic coaching, Disability Support Services, Counseling Services, the Library and so much more.
