A Blog for Undeclared Students

Author: Sharon (page 7 of 22)

Double the advice this Thursday!

Every Thursday during the summer we will offer some words of advice, wisdom, and encouragement from Spring 2024 UNIV117 (Exploring Your Academic Path) students to new, incoming University Studies (UST) undeclared students.

“A piece of advice I would give to incoming undeclared students is talk to people in fields you’re interested in to see what skills it takes to see if you really want to do it.”

“Throughout my time as a University Studies student, one thing that really helped me out choosing a major was assessing myself as a person; look at yourself and consider your skills. Are you good with people? Are you good at working in groups? What types of things did you enjoy doing as a kid?”

Piece of Advice Thursday!

Every Thursday during the summer we will offer some words of advice, wisdom, and encouragement from Spring 2024 UNIV117 (Exploring Your Academic Path) students to new, incoming University Studies (UST) undeclared students.

“My advice that I would give to incoming undeclared students would be to not let your fear tell you lies. Having worries and concerns is perfectly ok and expected but you cannot deny yourself opportunity to try and learn about things because you think that it isn’t meant for you. Going off of that, nothing is “made” for anyone, you need to be the one to claim it.”

We’re here to help and #peer2help

UST students, as we go into peak registration time/decisions about current semester registration changes (withdraw, p/f, and audit), please remember that UST advisors will be available to assist you through an all drop-in schedule. Please note the schedule below:

Friday, 4/19 – Monday, 4/29 (except weekends) 9:30 AM – Noon and 1 PM – 3:30 PM.

Please note: drop-ins are quick meetings (15 minutes or less) to provide course recommendations for the upcoming semester, as well as help with current class concerns/options. There may be waiting involved if it gets busy, so your patience is requested. You may or may not be able to see your own advisor, as you will see the first available advisor.

UST Peer Liaisons are available as well during this time. Please check out their ZOOM office hours (Zoom: https://udel.zoom.us/j/96172490779) if you would like some peer assistance:
