Now is a great time to schedule a meeting with your UST advisor to discuss where you are in your major-decision making: add/drop is over, midterms are still a few weeks away, and you have plenty of time to do any action items to help you pick a major before picking out your classes for the fall semester.
It is okay to come to a meeting without any idea of what you want to major in. You can also do some prep work ahead of time if you like. Here are some suggestions:
- Use Major Finder to read brief overviews on different majors of interest.
- Take some quick assessments on PathwayU to see what sort of careers align with your values and interests.
- Complete the Choosing & Declaring a Major online workshop.
- Explore the Occupational Outlook Handbook for careers that might interest you to see what sort of education and training is needed.
