You can buy your books at the UD Barnes and Noble on Main Street or at any of the bookstores in downtown Newark. You can also pre-order your books online and have them shipped to you. The online ordering process lets you rent some textbooks and choose used copies of others if you prefer, which can cut down on your costs.
We asked our peer liaisons which professors have had a positive impact on them since they came to UD. Devon chose Marc Lodyga in the BHAN department because she “loves how passionate he is about the topic of health education.” Shantelle told us that Kristin Wiens “always looks out for all of her students and makes learning about nutrition interesting.”
Moira Curtis and Sylvia Lee both joined the UD advising staff in 2017. Moira completed a B.A. in Human Relations
and an M.A. in Counseling with a concentration in Higher Education and Student Affairs. She began working as an advisor while still in graduate school. Sylvia received the B.A. in Theater, the B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Dance, and the M.Ed. in Counselor Education before becoming an academic and career advisor at JMU.
Academic advisors Adrian McCleary and Sharon Grayson both completed their undergraduate degrees in Communication.
