UDIT Research Computing offers a number of education opportunities from in-person training sessions, hosting online workshops, self-paced tutorials, and presentations on a variety of topics. These resources are available for both UD community clusters, and national resources
HPC
The University of Delaware currently has two high-performance computing (HPC) community clusters: Farber and Caviness. These clusters were built on the recommendation of a 2011 UD Research Computing Task Force that suggested the University create a large, broadly available HPC cluster.GIS
UD community members have been working with GIS for over 25 years. Today, GIS is used in some way in most colleges and departments on campus with support from units in the Library and Information Technologies.
Research Community Resources
University of Delaware has variety of research community resources to help with trainings on GIS, and HPC resources and software. The Research Cyber Infrastructure Staff currently host a UNIX Basics Series four times a year and are looking into adding Python training in the coming year. Materials for these training sessions can be found at the HPC Wiki–a wiki containing all of the documentation for using the IT Research Computing Community Clusters. UD GIS hosts training frequently as well as a Coffee Hour every two months.
