FirstMap Overview and a story about the Location Intelligence team

The purpose of this presentation is to provide a comprehensive overview of how to locate and effectively utilize FirstMap resources. Through this demo, we hope attendees will gain insights that enhance their research and teaching practices. Additionally, we will introduce the Location Intelligence team that supports FirstMap and share examples of our key projects and contributions to the State of Delaware.

Kim Cloud, GISP, Senior Software Engineer, Location Intelligence, State of Delaware Department of Technology & Information (DTI)

Kim Cloud has worked at the State of Delaware for 20 years and resides in the Location Intelligence Team at DTI. Kim received her BS in Mathematics & Computer Science, and MS in Geography from the University of Delaware. Her area of study was the impact of population and land use changes in the Christina River Basin. During the course of her studies she developed a passion for GIS that helped her complete a career change from project management in the financial industry to providing GIS services for the residents of the State of Delaware. She is the technical lead for the State’s Enterprise GIS system, FirstMap, responsible for maintaining the ArcGIS components of the system, and helping customers achieve success using the platform. She also manages the imagery and lidar services, manages the State’s Enterprise License Agreement with esri, and works closely with members of the State’s GIS community to advance efforts to establish a Geospatial Information Officer (GIO) for Delaware.
