Mills Retirement on August 21, 2023
IMPORTANT
On Monday, August 21, 2023, the Mills cluster will be fully retired and no longer accessible. Mills’ head node and all file systems will be permanently shutdown in preparation for the eventual destructive disposal of storage media (to protect any data present on the hardware). All Mills accounts will be deactivated and the mills-users google group will be removed.
Please note that prior to August 21, Mills workgroups who have access to Caviness can continue to set their workgroup and use the environment variables $HOME_MILLS and $WORKDIR_MILLS to access the (read-only) Mills /home and /lustre/work directories directly on Caviness. This access will also be terminated on August 21.
All Mills users are urged to archive any remaining important data residing on Mills’ file systems as soon as possible. Any data present in /lustre/work, /archive or /home directories on Mills will no longer be available after Monday, August 21, 2023.
We must finally say goodbye to the Mills cluster. Thank you to all Mills cluster users for your cooperation and contributions to the UD research and HPC communities.
