Departmental Diversity Committee Campus Integration

Mission

Lots of departments on campus have a diversity committee. Many of those committees share a similar goal and are working on similar tasks (e.g., recruitment and retention of URM graduate students). However, most of these committees work independently of each other and thus work on these issues may be redundant or inefficient across departments. Our goal as a committee is to develop a way to help departmental diversity committees communicate with each other and build off of each other’s efforts, reducing duplication of efforts and increasing efficiency.

Goals

  • Develop a way to help departmental diversity committees communicate with each other and build off of each other’s efforts, reducing duplication of efforts and increasing efficiency.
