Antisemitism and the Jewish Experience

Mission

The Antisemitism and Jewish Experience Committee (AJEC) seeks to strengthen the University’s diversity and inclusion mission for individuals and communities identified as Jewish by heritage or ethnicity. Through scholarly, pedagogical, and advocacy efforts, this committee seeks to promote a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the historical and contemporary effects of antisemitism on our campus and broader community.

Goals

  1. Partner with UDARI committees and Office of Institutional Equity to promote alliances and dialogue between groups that share histories of discrimination and prejudice.
  2. Promote the scholarly research and study of Jewish history through educational opportunities on campus and in the community.
  3. Create a website with educational resources about the history and current problems of antisemitism both globally and in Delaware.
  4. Advocate on behalf of the University of Delaware’s students, staff, and faculty who have been targets of antisemitism and work to ensure that university policies are followed.
