Dear University Community:

We are pleased to bring you the seventh annual report of the Women’s Caucus. The caucus was inaugurated in Spring 2011 and advocates for positive change on issues of concern to women faculty and staff at UD. In honor of Women’s History Month, we are excited to share the Annual Report in a web series format over the month of March.

Structure of web series
In this publication, you will find news and updates on our efforts as well as accomplishments of women faculty and staff across UD, discussion of our current caucus priorities, and extensive data on the status of women employed at UD at all levels. We want to highlight our gains as women on campus, as well as the areas still in need of our commitment and time. We are here to represent you as a woman at the University of Delaware and we hope that you will share your ideas and comments with us. We want our priorities to reflect your priorities.

Our board has done much to learn more about the Parental Leave Program and disseminate information to our constituents so they can better understand this policy.  We have been taking an in-depth look at the information available about women in the workforce and how UD compares with national data. And while it may not seem terribly significant, our General Meeting this past Fall was held in Warner Hall, the only all female residence hall on the UD campus before it sunsets for renovation to become the Wellbeing Center at Warner Hall in January of 2021.  It was truly inspiring to gather in a space which was pioneered by Emmalea Pusey Warner to create opportunities for women. Finally, we are excited about our upcoming Fireside Chat on March 23, 2020 which will feature distinguished panelists from across the University to discuss the current state of women at UD. This event will also coincide with our Torch Award, so please mark your calendars and attend to network and join the discussion.

If you are interested in learning more about the Women’s Caucus or want to get involved in any way, please contact us at womenscaucus@udel.edu or visit us online at https://sites.udel.edu/women

We hope that you join us at future meetings!

Sincerely,
Megan Wenner & Michele Kane
