CURC Request – Student Information

The University of Delaware’s Committee on Undergraduate Records and Certification (CURC – pronounced “Kirk”) is an administrative committee that can approve requests for changes to the academic record. Students who are submitting a CURC request that is based on a disability and/or diagnosed condition are required to meet with the Office of Disability Support Services (DSS).

For DSS to review your CURC request, you must:

  1. Follow your college/department’s rules and deadlines for submission of requests and documentation.
  2. Submit your written CURC request to DSS.
  3. Submit documentation to DSS from a qualified professional who can detail the presence of a disability and/or diagnosed condition and the impact it had on your academic performance during the semester(s) you are requesting to change.
  4. Call DSS at 302-831-4643 to schedule a CURC meeting.

After the meeting, DSS will provide a report to the Assistant Dean, based upon its review of the materials made available, that indicates whether DSS can support your CURC request. The Assistant Dean will provide this information to CURC when your request is presented. The report from DSS is only one of many pieces of evidence that the committee will review while considering your request. DSS supporting your request does not guarantee approval by the committee.
