Zoom and Canvas integration has arrived

Zoom is now integrated with Canvas, streamlining the online experience for both instructors and students. You can easily create/import Zoom meetings for your courses, add meetings to your Canvas course calendar, generate meeting attendance, and view polling reports.

What’s New: Faculty input needed for Educational Technology Surveys

In the coming months, Canvas@UD staff and IT-Academic Technology Services (IT-ATS) will be requesting faculty input on educational technology. You may receive a targeted survey through email or your Canvas Dashboard. Your input will help us better understand the educational technology needs of faculty and students. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
Help us improve Canvas to better support teaching and learning.
What’s New: New Quizzes timeline update

After much feedback from instructors and students alike, Canvas has updated its timeline for New Quizzes enforcement and Classic Quizzes deprecation. Classic Quizzes will remain in use through June 2024. In the meantime, New Quizzes will still be available as a feature you can enable in your courses.

Did you know?
- UDIT is offering a variety of new services, updates, and more to help you prepare for spring 2022.
- There’s a new Classroom Orientation Session on February 10, 2022: Join IT-UMS and IT-ATS from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 116 Willard (16 West Main Street) for a Keep Calm and Teach On (KCTO) open house session focusing on classroom technology. This session is open to anyone teaching in a centrally scheduled classroom and is designed to help instructors learn how to connect to the network and room equipment, manage student presentations, and much more.
- As of February 1, old Sakai sites that were migrated to Canvas using the migration tool are now concluded. Remember, starting in August 2022, Canvas sites older than 5 years will be concluded as part of the new Course Data Retention process.
- Zoom’s latest version 5.9.3 is available. Remember to update Zoom periodically, or turn on automatic updates.
- All faculty/staff and active students will retain their Zoom Pro licensed account while affiliated with UD. However, due to a recent Zoom licensing change, all other user accounts will be changed to Zoom Basic on February 28, 2022. Most accounts will keep Zoom Pro. Learn more.
- If you run into any problems with old (i.e., pre-2017) UD Capture videos, it is likely because they were migrated to the new server. Questions? Contact us at udcapture@udel.edu.
- The ATS Virtual Welcome Bar continues to be available to assist all UD instructors. Visit ats.udel.edu/welcomebar/ for details, available hours, and the virtual meeting link.
