More External LTI Tool updates planned for winter 2024

Time to read: 2 minutes
At the conclusion of the fall term, there will be updates to several third-party tools currently integrated into Canvas: McGraw Hill Connect, McGraw Hill SimNet, Pearson MyLab and Mastering, Pearson Revel, and Yellowdig.
Learn more about these updates and the steps you may need to take to ensure a seamless transition.

What’s New

  • Sunsetting iClicker Classic
Do you use iClickers for classroom polling? Do you use polling data for grading or with Canvas? iClicker Classic is discontinuing support of the current integration with Canvas.  Learn more about this transition or consider Poll Everywhere as an alternative.
  • New Gradebook Enhanced Filters feature option enabled by default
Canvas will enforce the use of New Gradebook Filters with the upcoming production update on August 19. This update allows instructors to create and save filters for future use giving instructors a more efficient way to organize their gradebook. It will also update the placement of menus and tools in the gradebook interface. To learn more about this feature, see the Canvas@UD blog post Canvas Gradebook: Enhanced Filters Feature Option or the Canvas guide, How do I create a filter in Enhanced Gradebook Filters?
  • New Quizzes feature option enabled for all courses
New Quizzes is now enabled by default in all courses. This change will cause a quiz tool selection option to be displayed when creating a quiz, but does not require a transition to New Quizzes. For more information about transition phases, see Canvas New Quizzes Transition Update.
  • Completed external LTI tools updated in June
Do you use Perusall or other publisher tools integrated into Canvas? Are you planning to copy previous course content to your fall course? If so, review the Third-Party External Tool Integrations Update from June to ensure your tool works correctly in your course.
