Dream with Disney – 2016 State Teen Conference Registration NOW OPEN!

As we near the holidays, we are very pleased to offer the new and improved online registration for the 2016 State Teen Conference.
Dream with Disney – If you can dream it, you can do it!
The conference will be held on January 30-31, 2016 at the Courtyard Marriott in Newark. This year, the conference falls during National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week, so the event will feature a guest speaker who has experienced the real-life effects of addiction. Other workshop topics include Breaking the Code-A Bully Simulation and Social Media & Connections to Careers.
Participants will also be creating Wellness Kits for a local homeless shelter. New Castle County 4-Hers are asked to bring travel-size non-perishable snacks including goldfish, crackers, granola bars, etc.
The cost is $50 for active Junior Council members and $100 for all other Delaware 4-Hers, age 13 and above.  The discount will automatically be added to your registration when you click the “Jr. Council” button. If you are not sure if you qualify for the discount, please contact the 4-H office.
Registration and payment are due January 20, 2016!

Healthy Living Updates

National Youth Summit on Healthy Living
February 12-15, 2016

National 4-H Council has allotted monies to send 3 Delaware 4-H and Healthy Living Ambassadors to the National Youth Summit on Healthy Living. At the National Youth Summit on Healthy Living, high school students develop the knowledge and skills to address today’s issues such as nutrition education, physical fitness, wellness, and emotional well-being. National 4-H Council and the National 4-H Conference Center have partnered with professionals in Family Consumer Science and Healthy Living to host the National Youth Summit on Healthy Living. Students are trained to create action plans to implement in their communities and teach other youth about what they have learned. The structure of the summits maximizes the amount of hands-on learning experiences and translates that learning to direct outcomes.

This Summit is open to any high school student in grades 9-12 as of September 2015.

Delaware 4-H members and Healthy Living Ambassadors must fill out an application (see below) to be considered to attend the conference.
