Harness Racing Camp
Harness Horse Youth Foundation Day Camp-
The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is having a one day camping program at Harrington Raceway on June 27, 2022. What to expect at a HHYF event? Campers will learn about harnessing and hitching and all about Standardbreds. There will be hands-on time with horses and opportunities to hear from industry pros. Most of all, campers will have fun as well as lunch!
Camp runs 8AM to 4PM and the registration fee is $35 which includes lunch (assistance is available – contact HHYF office) Youth ages 11 and up are eligible. All participants should wear long pants and solid toed shoes to the event.

State Camp/Environmental Camp

State Camp
Week 1: Monday June 13, 10:30 AM – Saturday, June 18, 10:00 AM

Week 2: Monday June 20, 10:30 AM – Saturday, June 25, 10:00 AM
The State Camp experience provides lasting memories and the chance to make lifelong friends. Surrounded by nature, campers can disconnect from technology and focus on developing healthy living habits. Campers are assigned to a people group for afternoon and campfire activities.
2022 Camp Fee: $375.00
Campers must be 10 years old and not more than 19 years old on 6/1/22 to attend this camp.
Environmental Camp
Friday, June 10, 3:00 PM – Sunday, June 12, 10:00 AM
This experience allows campers to explore basic soil and environmental science information through hands-on discovery. Getting your hands dirty, exploring the forest, and looking for critters was never so much fun.
A variety of classes related to the environment will be available. Classes are taught by University of Delaware undergraduate and graduate students. Previous camp classes included topics such as “Is River Water Safe to Drink? and “Digging Up the Dirt on Soil Microbes.” New classes are developed every year. Each afternoon provides time for recreation, such as swimming and canoeing. You will be assigned to a group for afternoon and campfire activities.
2022 Camp Fee: $145.00
Campers must be 8 years old and not more than 12 years old on 6/1/22 to attend this camp.

Camp Scholarships
Apply now for a scholarship toward the cost of one of our summer camps. Forms are due, either via the online form or physically in to the NCC Office by Friday, February 4. If sending in to the office, you can fax to 302-831-8934 or mail to NCC 4-H, 461 Wyoming Rd., Newark, 19716.
We will contact scholarship recipients as soon as possible.

Teens: Remote Skills Camp for College & Career Readiness
We are excited to announce the 4-H Remote Skills Camp for teens this summer! This 30-day camp is designed to prep teens ages 15-18 for career and college readiness by introducing them to remote work skills. It is a blended course combining online work with interactive workshops. The participants will learn the best practices of being a remote worker and have unique opportunities to participate in live Q&As with remote workers at NASA, Google and more. They will also have the opportunity to interact with college professors while participating in hands on educational and career exploration activities. Cloverbud Day Camp- June 21-25, 2021
During this exciting camp, campers will rotate through 4-H mini-stem classes. Each day the campers will experience topics including Healthy Living, Science, Technology, and Engineering (STEM), and more! Guest speakers will visit and there will be opportunities for Outdoor Recreation. Campers will have a wonderful hands-on experience in a fun-filled and safe environment on the beautiful grounds of the University of Delaware. Campers will provide their own lunch.
24 camper maximum

Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm Cost: $200.00
Newark 4-H Day Camp – June 21-25, 2021
Kitchen Chemistry, Animal Science, Health and Wellness, Photography, STEM, and more. These are some of the classes that campers may be able to select at our traditional 4-H Camp. Guest speakers will visit and there will be opportunities for Outdoor Recreation. Campers will have a wonderful hands-on experience in a fun-filled and safe environment. The week will conclude with an exciting council circle where groups will show off their talents. Campers will experience fun and active days on the beautiful grounds of the University of Delaware campus! Campers will provide their own lunch.
32 camper maximum

Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Camp – June 21-25, 2021
CIT Camp runs in conjunction with Newark Day Camp. Teens 13 and older are encouraged to tackle a hands-on leadership experience. This counselor training program is designed to equip teens with leadership skills that will prepare them to serve as camp counselors in the future. This camp is for teens who are age 13 by May 30. Training will involve camp counselor protocol, risk management, team building, camper safety, and problem solving. Completion of this program is strongly encouraged for those teens who wish to become a 4-H camp counselor for the 2022 summer camps. Campers will provide their own lunch.
10 camper maximum

4-H Animal Science Day Camp – August 2-5, 2021
Youth attending this camp will gain a remarkable up-close educational experience with animals. Campers will delve into animal science to gain a more in-depth understanding of farm animals through hands-on experiences at the University of Delaware Farm. The week will conclude with an Animal Science Quiz bowl to test camper’s knowledge gained during this engaging camp. Campers will provide their own lunch.

Revision to Camp Attendance Policy for Summer 2021
With plans ongoing for an in-person 2021 Delaware 4-H State Camp and Environmental Camp experience, we felt it important to share the following revisions to the attendance policy in light of in-person safety restrictions and compliance with state and university health guidance.
1. Any camper of 4-H age who attended Delaware 4-H State Camp, either virtually or in-person before 2021, is eligible to register for Delaware 4-H State Camp in 2021.

In-person camps my have gotten sidelined this summer, but we still want to give everyone who loves 4-H camp a camp anyway!
We’re offering a slew of online camps with fun and learning opportunities just like regular camp. You can sign up for any camp in any county this summer, so give more than one a try!

Younger Member Overnighter
Younger Member Overnighter (YMO) is a tradition open to younger 4-H members between the ages of 8 and 12. It is an overnight stay to be held at Ashland Nature Center Lodge. (3511 Barley Mill Road Hockessin, DE 19707) The lodge has bunk style beds with two wings and a central meeting room. The overnight begins Sat. March 28 with drop off at 6:30 pm. Pickup is at 11:00 am on Sun. March 29. Junior Leaders along with certified chaperones and staff serve to make the YMO a terrific experience.
Younger Member Overnighter introduces 4-H’ers to many of the traditions, songs and camaraderie that continues at Junior Leader Weekend, State Camp and other state events.
The cost is $30, which includes educational programs, evening snacks and breakfast the next morning! Registration is required. Please submit the registration form below by March 16, 2020. Please be sure your online health form is up to date.
A minimum of 10 younger members is required to hold this event.

Summer Day Camp Counselor Application
Are you between 13 and 19 and looking for a fun and enriching opportunity to work with other youth this summer? Consider becoming a NCC 4-H Day Camp Counselor!
These positions are for the NCC 4-H Newark Day, Cloverbud and Animal Science Camps.
There will be a meeting for camp counselors on Tuesday, February 18 from 6:30-8 pm at the NCC Office.
