Canvas Discussion Checkpoints are coming!
Commonly referred to as “multiple discussion due dates,” this feature will be available starting in January 2025. Read this overview and watch a sneak peek preview video.
What’s New:
- Bubble Sheets for exam scoring were added to the Gradescope Pilot! Initially, the Gradescope pilot focused on grading paper-based and programming assignments, but the tool can also score exam bubble sheets. If you’re interested in evaluating this feature, review the latest Gradescope pilot update to learn more.
- New features have been added to Canvas New Quizzes. While Canvas has not indicated when Classic Quizzes will be officially retired, being proactive can make for a smoother transition to New Quizzes. Learn more about the recent updates to consider your transition.
- Perusall has two new assignment types: Peer Review Assignments and Differentiated Assignments. Here’s what you need to know if you use Perusall in your Canvas course.
- Poll Everywhere users! A new feature, Course Management, will be available starting in January.
Did you know:
- The most used Canvas tool is the Files tool and more than 10 million files have been uploaded to Canvas@UD. Learn more about the accessibility tools available in Canvas to ensure your students have access to all of the content they need for your course.
- A few quick changes may improve the integrity of your Canvas quiz. Canvas Quizzes has more options than traditional multiple-choice question types, and some quick changes to your settings can provide a unique quiz presentation for each student.
- Winter 2025 Canvas course sites were created on November 5. Review Canvas Course Information for a New Term for information about how to check for your courses, make change requests, and prepare to teach this winter. Expect your spring 2025 course sites to be available in early December.
