What is Scan & Pay?

Scan & Pay is a convenient way to pay for parking citations. Scan the QR code on the bottom of the ticket to be directed to a mobile-friendly payment website.

How does the Scan & Pay process work?

After scanning the QR code with a smartphone, drivers will be directed to a secure website to view their citation details and complete the payment.

Can I pay multiple citations at once using Scan & Pay?

No, each citation must be paid individually using the QR code provided on each ticket.

Is it safe to pay my citation online through Scan & Pay?

The payment website is secure and was reviewed by our IT Security Group to ensure it was designed to protect your personal and payment information.

What if I don’t want to pay at that moment?

Drivers who wish to wait to pay later can set up an email or text reminder through Scan & Pay to pay later.

I forgot to pay my citation, and it’s been over 17 days. Will the late fee be added if I use Scan & Pay?

Yes, if a late fee has been applied to your citation, it will automatically be included in the total amount displayed on the Scan & Pay website. You’ll be able to see the total amount, including any fees, before completing your payment.

Is there a fee for using Scan & Pay?

Yes, there is a $0.35 convenience fee, and a transaction fee is applied to each payment made through the Scan & Pay service. The transaction fee is dependent on the violation amount.

Can I get a refund if I pay through Scan & Pay?

No, payments made through the Scan & Pay service are non-refundable.

Can I appeal a citation after I paid through Scan & Pay?

No, there is also verbiage before payment submission that advises you to forgo your right to appeal or request a refund if you make a payment.

What types of payment are accepted through Scan & Pay?

The payment website accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and debit cards. After scanning the QR code, specific details will be provided on the payment page.

If I use a debit card for payment, will any amount be held until the transaction is processed?

No, when you pay with a debit card, the transaction is processed immediately, and no hold is placed on your account. The full amount will be deducted at the time of payment.

Can I pay for my citation through other methods besides Scan & Pay?

Yes, you can still pay your citation through our website at www.udel.edu/parking or by mail.

Why are there convenience fees and transaction fees?

The convenience and transaction fees cover the costs of maintaining the online payment platform, ensuring a secure and easy payment process.

Will I receive confirmation of my payment?

Yes, after completing your payment through the Scan & Pay website, you will receive a confirmation email or text for your records.

What error code or message will I see if my payment fails or is declined?

If your payment fails or is declined, you will receive an on-screen message stating, “There was an issue processing your payment. Please try again later or use a different card.” Common reasons include insufficient funds or incorrect card information. If the problem persists, please contact your bank or Parking Services for assistance.

Who do we call if there is an issue with the Scan & Pay site?

End-users (students) would contact Parking Services via email at parking@udel.edu or Zoom Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM (Meeting ID 302-831-1184). We will contact T2 Systems Support to create a ticket. Please provide a screenshot and give as much detail as possible when contacting us about issues.
