Student Problem Resolution

The ELI has recently created its Student Problem Resolution Form (“SPRF”) which is distributed to all students via the Student Handbook or administrative staff. The recently revised ELI Student Handbook explains the SPRF, contains a sample and encourages students to make use of it if they desire.

Once the ELI has received a SPRF, the ELI director, associate director, or assistant director schedules an appointment with the student to review the matter and take appropriate steps to resolve the issue. A written description of the problem, along with the actions taken to rectify the matter, is placed in the student’s file, the Director’s files, and the ELI database. Depending upon the issues involved, the director may refer the matter to other authorities such as the UD or local police, UD Dean of Students’ Office, etc., and/or schedule additional meetings as appropriate. The ELI maintains strict confidentiality of these records according to University policies and federal and state law.
