E-mail Mailing Lists

ELI Mailing Lists

We now have several mailing lists which can be used to send email to specific groups of people at ELI:

eli-general (eli-general@udel.edu): This list includes everyone who works at ELI during the current session with the exception of the work-study and temporary office help. It can be updated as new personnel come onboard.

eli-faculty (eli-faculty@udel.edu): This list includes all full-time faculty, including those who work offsite in the public school system, plus Baerbel Schumacher. It is updated as needed.

eli-iep (eli-iep@udel.edu): This list includes all of the teachers who have regular morning classes during the current session. In addition, email sent to this list also goes to most ELI administrators. This list is updated at the beginning of every session to reflect the current teaching line-up.

eli-tutors (eli-tutors@udel.edu): This list includes all of the tutors who are working during the current session. It is updated at the beginning of each session and as needed during the session.

eli-staff (eli-staff@udel.edu): This list includes the professional and administrative staff at ELI. It is updated as directed.

eli-oc (eli-oc@udel.edu): This list includes the current line-up for the Orientation Committee. It is updated as new members come onboard and old members leave.

eli-scontract (eli-scontract@udel.edu): This list includes only the current s-contract teachers. It is updated at the beginning of each session.

HOW TO USE THE LISTS

You can send an email to any list by typing the mailing list address into the To: or Cc: fields of your email message.

If you are a member of the list, your message will automatically be forwarded to all the email addresses in the mailing list. You will receive a copy of the email in your own inbox. If you are not a member of the list, the first time you send a message to the list, your message may be bounced to the list administrator (Ken Hyde) for approval. He will approve the message and it will be sent to all of the addresses on the list. If you are not a member of the list, you will not get a copy sent to your inbox.

If you want to send an email to everyone on a list, plus a few extra people, you can use the list address and then enter the addresses of your extra recipients manually, either in the To: field or the Cc: field. There is no way to send an email to part of the list without sending it to all.

Google Groups

Mailing lists are a function of Google Groups, part of the University’s GSuite. To manage your group preferences you can navigate to https://groups.google.com/my-groups. If you are already logged in using CAS single sign-on, you will not need to log in. Otherwise, you will need to use your CAS credentials (UDelNEt ID and password or UD ID and PIN) to log in.

Once you have logged in, you can subscribe to other mailing lists, unsubscribe, or change other settings that control how your email is sent to you.

Please contact Ken if you have any questions.
