Tutoring Attendance for AT/CAP Students

By counting tutoring in overall student attendance, students will take this private instruction more seriously. Because total tutoring hours vary based on days that tutoring is not offered (holidays, the first day of the session, and graduation day), we will determine 12 sessions to be 100% attendance in tutoring; 6 for those with one hour. No-shows shall then be deducted from the ideal (12), taking into account made up sessions.

AT/CAP Students

  • all ELI students at all levels who have been conditionally admitted to the University of Delaware through Academic Transitions or the Graduate Conditional Admissions Program are required to sign up for tutoring and take tutoring unless extraordinary circumstances make it impossible or impractical for the student to do so. Any exceptions must be approved by the Director or the Associate Director of the ELI
  • attendance of tutoring sessions is included in the overall attendance record of an AT/CAP student
  • the criterion for maintaining AT/CAP status is an overall attendance rate (combined classes and tutoring) of 90% or more
  • tutoring sessions may be used for developing written and oral communication skills as well as academic skills, based on the needs of the student being tutored.
