iClicker is upgrading iClicker Classic customers to the iClicker Cloud software as the only supported software starting January 2024. If you are using iClickers and have a registered instructor remote, you have received emails announcing this update.
What does this mean for current users of iClicker Classic? First, we would encourage instructors to transition over to Poll Everywhere, the student response system currently supported by UD, well before January 2024. For more information on this online polling platform please visit the UD Poll Everywhere website or if you would like to set up a consult with the UD Poll Everywhere team to discuss your transition, please email udpolling@udel.edu.
What will happen in Canvas? The existing iClicker tool available in Settings -> Navigation will be removed at the end of the 23F term and will no longer be available in your Canvas course. You can still continue to use the base and physical remotes with what is currently in place. However, if you continue running the UD customized software that is integrated with Canvas past December, it will break. For those committed to using iClicker Classic locally, there will be a final simplified version released at the end of the year. Please reach out to udpolling@udel.edu if you would like a copy of the final version. Please note: This version will not offer LMS integration, and will not be supported by the iClicker customer support team.
What is being done to allow continued iClicker integration in Canvas? The LMS team is working to get the recommended iClicker Cloud integration into Canvas so that you may continue passback of roster and grade information. SAVE THE DATE! January 2024 we will be hosting a vendor lead training of the transition from iClicker Classic to iCloud during the Winter Session of Keep Calm and Teach On.
