A Canvas production update will occur on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Check out the full release notes.  Production updates occur on third Saturday of each month, and the next planned update is Saturday, June 18, 2022 .  Updates in the current release include:

New Quizzes update – Fill-in-the-Blank Question Type Allows Editor Capability
If you have been frustrated by not having formatting capability when using the New Quizzes fill-in-the-blank question type, this update allows for editing within the stem so you can include formatting such as line returns, tables, math formulas, etc.  There is now only one location to insert question content so that the blanks must no longer be defined within the stem field.  The notation to indicate a blank is similar to the new notation in the formula question.  You now use tick marks (“) to indicate a blank instead of the brackets ([ ]).  This update provides New Quizzes fill-in-the-blank question similarity to Classic Quizzes.

For more information about the question type, please see the Canvas guide, How do I create a Fill in the Blank question in New Quizzes?

Modules – ‘Select a Module’ Drop-Down Menu Update using Direct Share (April 27 Deploy)
When importing content using Direct Share or Shared Content features, the Modules drop-down menu has been updated to present all modules available in the destination course.  If you are not familiar with Direct Share, it is a tool that allows you to send course content to another course or user.  For more information, please see the Canvas@UD blog post, Canvas Release Notes – January 18, 2020, or the Canvas release note, Canvas Release: Direct Share.
