WHAT IS YOUNGER MEMBER OVERNIGHTER?
Younger Member Overnighter (YMO) is a tradition open to younger members of 4-H between the ages of 8 and 12. It is an overnight stay to be held at Mallard Lodge, Hay Point Landing Road Smyrna, DE. 19977 The lodge has bunk style beds in several rooms. The overnight begins Sat. April 21 with drop off at 5 pm. Pickup is at noon on Sun. April 22. Junior Leaders along with certified chaperones and staff serve to make the YMO a terrific experience.
Younger Member Overnighter introduces 4-H’ers to many of the traditions, songs and camaraderie that continues at Junior Leader Weekend, State Camp and other state events.
4-H’ers who attend YMO learn leadership and responsibility skills from the fine example of the Junior Leaders who plan the theme and activities.
The cost is $20, which includes educational programs, a woodworking project, dinner, evening snacks and breakfast the next morning! Registration is required.
