Happy Holidays,
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. As December is now here and we are winding down the 2023 year, we start to slow down in the 4-H community for a short time before we hit the ground running in the New Year. Please take a moment and reflect on all you have done this past year within 4-H and in your personal life. At some point you have had to overcome a fear, had a great victory (big or small), and enjoyed all the things the year has brought. We at Delaware 4-H are continuing to push ahead to ensure we can offer the best programming to our youth and volunteers in the coming year.
The University of Delaware offices (and therefore, the 4-H office) will be closed Friday, December 22nd through Monday, January 1st. We will re-open on Tuesday, January 2nd. We will be enjoying time with our families and friends and hope that you will do the same.
November brought back the Quarter Auction, an Environmental workshop partnering with White Clay Creek State Park and finally the Public Speaking contest. We had a great time at each event!

Walking through the Holidays – walking challenge
Statewide Skating Party at State Fair Grounds
Things you can start preparing for that will be happening in the New Year are the following:
– Photography Contest
– Junior Leader Weekend
– STEM Workshop
– Foods Judging
– Camp Counselor Meetings
– Favorite Foods – get your favorite recipes out!
**Reminder all 4-H members who were enrolled in 4-H last year must re-enroll through 4-H Online by December 1, 2023 to be eligible to participate in any county and statewide events.
We also love to hear all the great things you are doing with your club members; club reporters don’t forget to submit your club news to Serena by the 20th of each month to be included in the newsletter. We love seeing your pictures!
