Canvas Quick Overview and Q&A for Fall 2024

How does the event work?  The Zoom session starts at 10:00 AM.  Every thirty minutes, there will be a brief overview of a tool or topic.  After the short presentation, you can ask questions, share your own experiences and connect with colleagues on that topic who have also joined the session.  A list of topics and short descriptions are below, and you will be able to pop in and out throughout the session for those topics that interest you.  Our goal is to help you build more confidence in how you use Canvas and the available tools or introduce to new Canvas capabilities.

What's New in Canvas@UD?

10:00 Learn more about recent and upcoming changes to Canvas@UD – feature options, existing tool updates, new tool pilots, and plans from the Canvas Roadmap.

Canvas Course Feature Options

10:30  Feature options can be optionally enabled in your course to preview new tools and updates or to enable a specific feature that may not apply to all users.  Learn more about the currently available features.

Canvas Assignments

11:00  Learn more about the options for Canvas Assignments – submission types, peer review, group submissions, and differentiated rules.

Canvas Rubrics and Outcomes

11:30  Rubrics can add assignment clarity for your students and help you speed grading.  Outcomes can be added to rubrics to assess student work on the learning goals of your course.  Learn more about how they can work together.
