New Quizzes – Multiple Selections in Hot Spot Questions (March 26 deploy)
Instructors can now define multiple correct areas in hot spot questions.  Students can select from multiple areas on an image, and any correct selection point will award the student full credit.  No partial credit is awarded.  The maximum areas a student can select is equal to the number of correct areas defined.  For example, if you define four correct areas, a student can respond with up to four areas selected.   If the student submits 1-4 selected areas which are all correct, the student will be awarded full credit.  But the student will be penalized for submitting an incorrect selection.  If the student selects a correct area and an incorrect area, the student will be awarded no credit.  Be sure to provide clear instructions in your question stem.

Please note, existing hot spot questions can be edited to define multiple hotspots.  For more information about hotspot questions in New Quizzes, please see the Canvas guide, How do I create a Hot Spot question in New Quizzes?
