A Canvas production update will occur on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Check out the full release notes.  Production updates occur on third Saturday of each month, and the next planned update is Saturday, August 19, 2023.  Updates in the current release include:

Inbox – Improved Functionality
The Inbox has been updated to improve the interface and accessibility for all users.  No functional changes are included, but you will see interface differences in the main toolbar and in the compose message screen.

Grading Scheme Redesign
Interface changes have been made to the Grading Schemes options in course Settings  to improve the interface and accessibility for instructors.  No functional changes are included, but you will see interface differences in the selection process and icons.

For more information about Canvas grading schemes, please see the Canvas guide, How do I enable a grading scheme for a course?

External Tool Assignments Add Rubric Button (June 21 deploy)
The Add Rubric button is now available for external tool type assignments.  Previously, the Add Rubric button was unavailable for external tool assignments, and instructors needed to use a workaround by creating the assignment as a different type, adding the rubric, and then changing the assignment type to external tool.  This workaround is no longer necessary.  For more information about adding rubrics to your assignments, please see the Canvas guide, How do I add a rubric to an assignment?
