A Canvas production update will occur on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Check out the full release notes. Production updates occur on third Saturday of each month, and the next planned update is Saturday, January 20, 2023. Updates in the current release include:
New Quizzes – Item Banks Shared in Course Copy
When a course is copied that includes a new quiz with an item bank, the item bank is shared with the new course automatically. If the bank is not shared in the original course, it will still be shared with read privileges in the new course. This sharing ensures that the instructor(s) in the new course will always be able to read the bank. If item banks are not used in New Quizzes, no sharing is made during the copy.
Calendar – Duplicate Events for Sections (December 6 deploy)
Users can now create and edit duplicate events for different sections of a course to optimize scheduling and improves user workflows. Please note, this feature is not to create recurring events, but instead to differentiate events for different sections in the same course. From the Events more options tool, elect the “Use a different date for each section” checkbox, and enter the desired date and time for each section. If a recurring event, select the “Duplicate” checkbox and enter the desired frequency.
