A Canvas production update will occur on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Check out the full release notes.  Production updates occur on third Saturday of each month, and the next planned update is Saturday, September 16, 2023.  Updates in the current release include:

Enhanced Gradebook Filter Feature Enforcement
The Enhanced Gradebook feature option was previously available on a course opt-in basis.  This enforcement updates the gradebook interface in all courses.  For more information, please see the Canvas@UD blog post, Canvas Gradebook: Enhanced Filters Feature Option, the Canvas blog post, Say Hello to “Enhanced Gradebook Filters” as the New Default Experience in Canvas, or the Enhanced Gradebook Filters Feature Overview Video.   Changes in the interface include:

  • Relocation of the View menu to a tab in gradebook Settings (the gear icon).

  • Removal of the Actions menu and placing the Import and Export tools near the Settings menu.

Announcement Warnings (August 2 deploy)
Warning messages have been added to the Announcements tool to inform instructors that announcement notifications will not be sent from an unpublished course and that notifications are not sent when an existing announcement is edited.  If you add announcements to your course before publishing, delay the posting of the announcement until after the course is published to send student notifications.   If you would like a notification sent after modifying an announcement, copy and paste the existing announcement content into a new announcement, edit the announcement, then delete original announcement.
