A Canvas production update will occur on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Check out the full release notes. Production updates occur on third Saturday of each month, and the next planned update is Saturday, November 21, 2020.  Updates in the current release include:

Recent History In Global Navigation
The blue global navigation menu now includes a History link which displays recently visited pages in Canvas.  Page content is displayed by title, and the history includes the most recent pages viewed  up to the last three weeks.

Notification Interface Update
The user-level Notifications page has been updated to match the design of the course-level Notifications page, and additional enhancements have been added to clarify notifications between each level.

Notifications for individual courses can be changed within each course and override user account notifications. The Course Notifications page also includes a banner notifying users about these overrides.

For more information about your notification preferences, please see the Canvas guides, How do I set my Canvas notification preferences as an instructor? and How do I manage notifications for a single course as an instructor?

Create Groups by Importing a CSV File (October 21 Deploy)
Within a group set, instructors can create groups using a CSV as an alternative to enrolling users manually in the interface.

In the Import Groups window, the Course Roster CSV can be downloaded as a template for entering group names in the Group Name column. The CSV file can then be uploaded to the group set.

For more information, please see the Canvas guide, How do I import groups in a group set?
