A Canvas production update will occur on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Check out the full release notes. Production updates occur on third Saturday of each month, and the next planned update is Saturday, October 17, 2020. Updates in the current release include:
New Analytics – Reports
New Analytics now has a reports tab that provides downloadable CSV files.
Reports can be filtered by assignment, section, and student and include:
- Missing Assignments
- Late Assignments
- Excused Assignments
- Class Roster
- Course Activity
Reports include Student Name, Student ID, Course Name, Course ID, Section Name and other data associated with the report.
The Course Roster report is useful because it provides a downloadable csv file of the students enrolled and listed in the People tool in your course. Until now, the only way to download that Canvas roster was to export your Canvas gradebook. The Course Activity report provides information similar to the data listed in each student’s Access Report, but all in one file so that you do not have to view each student separately. The report calendar filter only accommodates up to the past 27 days. Please note all reports provide real-time data except for the Course Activity report, which includes data that may be delayed up to 24 hours.
