We’re looking for Fair helpers! Set up, break down, and many other tasks- we have something for everyone! Please consider helping out! Please sign up before July 1
OR consider being a Host/Hostess! We need 4-H’ers to man the building daily between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm. Pick a timeslot! Wear your 4-H swag! And share all that’s great about 4-H!
OR consider helping out the Delaware State Grange or Farm Bureau!
These two organizations are very supportive of the 4-H program. Both groups, especially the Grange,
are normally in need of 4-H members and volunteers to help them in their food booths during the fair.
We encourage 4-H teens to check in with these organizations at the fair to donate one shift
of time to this effort. The Grange normally has work opportunities for younger 4-H members, also.
Join us on the 4-H Float at the daily parade!
There’s a parade each evening at the Fair at 7 pm and they’re always happy to have members join the fun. Please reach out to Kaitlin.
Check out the State Fair Newsletter for ALL the info you need about your entries- and everything else Fair related!

Exhibit Check-In:
We will contact club leaders when the entry tags are in.
Entry tags will be distributed to you by your 4-H Leader. Please check them for accuracy. If you have errors, contact the Fair immediately to correct them. ****Please tag your exhibits prior to bringing them to the Fair.***
You should take your own entries down to the Fair or coordinate with your club to have someone take them down whenever possible. The NCC 4-H Staff can take some down in the event you are not able to. However, the staff cannot take large or cumbersome exhibits down or be responsible for any damage that may occur (of course, we take our utmost care with them). If the staff takes your exhibit down for you, they will bring them back up at the end of the Fair. If you take your exhibit down yourself, you must also pick it up at the end of the Fair yourself.
- All exhibits (except Foods, Vegetables, Indoor/Outdoor Gardening and Cut flowers) are brought to the 4-H exhibit area between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Monday, July 15. If dropping off for NCC Staff to take down, they must be at the NCC Office NO LATER THAN Friday July 12 at 3 pm.
- Foods, Vegetables, Indoor/Outdoor Gardening, and Cloverbud (Class 2 if live plant or vegetable and Class 8) are brought to the Fair between 8:30 and 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 18. If dropping off for NCC Staff to take down, they must be at the NCC Office NO LATER THAN Wednesday, July 16 at 3 pm.
- Cut flowers, Section T, will be accepted on Wednesday, July 24, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. NCC Staff does NOT take cut flowers down to the Fair for members.
