Happy Turkey Month!

November means Fall is in full swing and it looks like the leaves may finally be starting to change. It’s a great time to be with family and remember everything you are thankful for. This month brings Daylight Saving, Election Day, Veteran’s Day, Native American Heritage Day, and Thanksgiving!

The Achievement Celebration was held on Sunday, October 5. (There’s a link to the flickr photo album of pictures in a post- don’t miss it!) We honored 4-H members and volunteers’ achievements for everything they accomplished within the last 4-H year. We want to say congratulations again to all 4-H members, volunteers, and parents on a great 2024-2025 year! We are looking forward to being able to expand your 4-H experience this 4-H year.

Once again this year, we held the Pumpkin contest at Kranz Farm right outside of Newark. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to the 4-H Link’s for supporting the event. See below for results and pictures of the awesome pumpkins!

Be sure to read all the posts so you don’t miss anything. This month, we have:

– Fall workshops (sewing & archery)

– Public Speaking registration

– Leaders Forum

– Hippology registration

– Winter Fun Day

We love to hear all the great things you are doing with your club members! Club reporters or secretaries, don’t forget to submit your club news to Serena by the 25th of each month to be included in the newsletter. So far, Porter Gang has been pretty lonely as the only contributor. We know all our other clubs are having fun and interesting meetings, too! We want to share what you’re up to with everyone. Please send along- if you are late on the deadline, don’t let that stop you! We can always add your info in.

Be sure to look at our online newsletter, Friday emails and Delaware 4-H Facebook for updates, news and challenges.

Leaders- please make sure to check your club enrollment to make sure your club members are re-enrolling in 4-H Online so they are able to participate in all things 4-H! You can log into your club and download your most recent roster. You can then let Serena know who can be approved. Delaware 4-H enrollment and re-enrollment for the 2025-2026 year started on September 1, 2025.  If you have any questions regarding enrollment or if you need your club login password, please reach out to Serena. (Remember, she doesn’t have access to personal passwords, but does have access to club passwords.)

I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones! Remember to take time to embrace the moment- we have so much to be thankful for!

Yours in 4-H,

Ms. Kaitlin
