Happy Turkey Month!
November means fall is in full swing and the colors outside are (finally!) beautiful. It’s a great time to be with family and remember everything you are thankful for. This month brings Daylight Savings, Election Day, Veteran’s Day, Native American Heritage Day, and Thanksgiving!
“4-H is a feeling” was the theme for the Achievement Celebration held on Sunday, October 1. We honored 4-H members and volunteers’ achievements for the 2022-2023 4-H year. Congratulations to all 4-H members, volunteers, and parents on a great 2022-2023 year! We are looking forward to being able to expand your 4-H experience this 4-H year.
We had some great pumpkins this year at the pumpkin contest and fall fest at Cook Family Farms. We appreciate them letting us hold the contest there and the kids seemed to enjoy the fall activities. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to the 4-H Link members for supporting the event. See the post for results and pictures of the awesome pumpkins!
Be sure to read all the posts so you don’t miss anything. We have community service opportunities coming up. The Public Speaking Contest registration is now open via 4-H Online and we have info on our annual Winter Fun Day! Make sure you don’t miss our pictures of the awesome window displays and banner that were presented during National 4-H Week! They turned out great!
We love to hear all the great things you are doing with your club members. Club reporters or secretaries- don’t forget to submit your club news to Serena by the 25th of each month to be included in the newsletter.
Be sure to look at our online newsletter, Friday emails and Delaware 4-H Facebook for updates, news and challenges.
Leaders- please make sure to check your club enrollment to make sure your club members are able to participate in all things 4-H! As we all know, the FIRM reenrollment deadline of December 1 is only a month away. Please continue to check in with your members to make sure they’ve reenrolled (new members can enroll at any time during the year) and let them know that Serena is available to assist if they have any difficulties.
I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones! Remember to take a few second to embrace the moment-we have so much to be thankful for!
Yours in 4-H,
Ms. Kaitlin
