Hagley Tour
It was a beautiful day this evening on the wooded banks of the Brandywine River, one that just takes you back in time to another era. On our visit to the early 1800’s, we encountered a great variety of authentically restored machinery run using water-power. Seeing belt-driven machine shop staples operate was awesome, and watching the water turbine that powered them start up only added to the excitement. We even got to see a giant rotary grinder, and finished out our live demonstrations with a bang! A special thanks to the ASME Delaware Professional Section for organizing this trip, and also thank you to all the students & professionals alike who came along for the trip.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the annual ASME Kickoff Picnic this year, in spite of the heat. Those that came for the food didn’t leave hungry, and those who came to chat got to reunite with the alumni & professional engineers who came as well.
