Princeton Invitational 2018

Today the regular cross country season came to a close as the men’s top 7 raced at the Princeton Invitational, where they placed 3rd out of 17 teams! The flat course allowed every runner to put down a personal best, setting up for a strong post-season. Official results are available here.

Vice President Brandon Holveck led the team to their overall top finish, running a 25:56 to place 11th against a field of 209 runners. Captain Brandon Quanci wasn’t far behind Holveck, placing 13th in 26:13. Freshman Nick Fafel was the next to finish, crossing the line in 27:09 to place 34th.

The top 5 was rounded out by Evan Massa and freshman Schuyler Reed, who both ran significant personal bests. Massa’s 27:39, which put him in 51st place, is a 2 minute and 24 second improvement off of his previous best time, and Reed’s 27:26, for 55th place, is a 2 minute and 56 second personal best. Freshman Paul Filipow ran 28:18, and Captain Evan Driscoll ran 29:21.

Today was a successful day for the Blue Hens, and they hope to continue this momentum into the post-season. All eyes will be on NIRCA Regionals this coming Saturday! With photography from Emily Hansell, pictures are below:
