Today, the Blue Hens ran in their final home meet of the fall season, the Blue & Gold Invitational. Congratulations to both the men’s and women’s teams for placing 3rd overall! Official results are here.

The women’s race started at 9:45, and the first member of the team to cross the line was Julia MacMasters, who placed 8th overall in a time of 24:40.49. Abby Kaye was the next to finish, placing 18th in 25:16.86. After her came Alana Waggoner, who ran a time of 25:23.84 to place 22nd. Elise LaFramboise placed 26th in 25:42.93 and Emily Magoon finished 30th in 26:37.52 to round out the team’s scorers. The top 5 runners scored 98 points, which put the team at 3rd overall.

For the men, the gun went off at 10:15. Chris Kitson was our top finisher, placing 2nd in a time of 27:09.83. Brandon Quanci then ran 29:48.35 to finish 21st. Our next runner was Brendan Jones, who finished 25th, running 30:25.86. Luke Nigro placed 31st in 50:59.58 and Michael Rubin placed 37th in 31:44.23. The men’s team scored 104 points to place 3rd overall.

Afterwards, parents set up a barbecue for the last home meet. Thanks to those who helped out and congratulations to all who ran!
