Observation Experiences

The UD Physical Therapy Clinic has three different ways for students or members of the community to volunteer/ observe in the clinic. You must be a UD student or older than 18 years old for all three opportunities

  1. Volunteering
    • We allow UD students and community members over the age of 18 to complete our full orientation process and come in to the clinic to volunteer as an aide.
    • We accept volunteers year-round and for as many hours as you would like.
    • Please visit the Volunteering page for more information and sign-up instructions.
  2. PHYT400 Practicum Course
    • This is a 1-2 credit practicum course through UD that includes more structured volunteering as an aide. PHYT400 students are given priority for our available volunteer shifts each semester.
    • Please visit the PHYT400 Practicum course page for more details.
  3. Single Day Observation
    • The observation option is limited to only one day. If you would like to be in the clinic for more than one day, please see our Volunteering page for more details.
    • If you are interested in purely observing without more patient interaction, visit our Single Day Observation page to fill out an application.
