ISAIAH GANGADEEN

Project Assistant, Island Policy Lab

Isaiah Gangadeen is a PhD student and Research Assistant at the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration, University of Delaware, U.S. He is also a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Guyana where he was responsible for courses such as Introductory Econometrics and Industrial Organisation, and also partnered in lecturing Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics and the Economics of Innovation. Isaiah has also acquired experience as an Economist at the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce as well as an Economic and Financial Analyst at the Ministry of Finance, Guyana. His experience spans from the monitoring of fiscal and budgetary operations of the Central Government to the analysis of policies and strategies in the areas of Economic Development, Industrial Policy, National Competitiveness and International Trade.

Isaiah acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at the University of Guyana and as a Commonwealth Scholar, he completed his Master’s Degree in Development Economics at the University of Manchester, U.K.  His research interests are Development Economics, Energy Policy and the transition to Renewable Energy, and areas relating to Industrialisation, Innovation and Industrial Policy.
