GODFREY BALDACCHINO

Professor of Sociology, University of Malta and Ambassador-at-Large for Islands and Small States

Godfrey Baldacchino PhD BA PGCE MA is Professor of Sociology at the University of Malta and Malta Ambassador-at-Large for Islands and Small States. He is the founding editor of Island Studies Journal and editor of Small States and Territories journal (both open access). He served as President of the International Small Islands Studies Association (2014-2022) and as a Canada Research Chair (Island Studies) at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada (2003-2013). He is the (co)author and (co)editor of some 50 books and 170 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, many dealing with the challenges and idiosyncrasies of islands and small states.
