ARIETA GONELEVU RAKAI

Programme Officer and Team Lead, SIDS Lighthouses Initiative, International Renewable Energy Agency 

Arieta is the Programme Officer and Team Lead for the SIDS Lighthouses Initiative, the partnerships framework of action that is coordinated by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), which supports SIDS energy transition and climate action efforts. She has more than 20 years of work experience in renewable energy development in small island developing states. She had previously worked for the Pacific Community (SPC), International Union for the Conservation Union (IUCN), South Pacific Geoscience Commission (SOPAC) and the Government of Fiji – Department of Energy. She has a Bachelor of Technology (Electrical/Electronics Engineering) from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji, a Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Studies and a Master of Science (Renewable Energy) from Murdoch University, Australia.
